At the beautiful Mackenzie King Estate, volunteering opportunities include leading guided tours, and telling the story of the Estate and its wonderful gardens. Located in scenic Gatineau Park, the Estate was the residence of William Lyon Mackenzie King, Canada’s 10th prime minister.

If you like the outdoors, are fluently bilingual (English and French), have some knowledge of horticulture of gardening, are comfortable dealing with the public, are willing to wear periode costumes, have your own means of transportation and are available one afternnoon every second weekend from the end of June until the Labour Day weekend (inclusively), we’d love to have you at the Estate!

Position Description Comments
Interpreter-guide Dress in period costume, meet and interact with visitors, provide guided tours of the garden.
  • Must have experience with horticulture
  • Be bilingual
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Must have own means of transportation
  • Must possess interpersonal communication skills (experience in giving public presentations would be an asset.
  • be available one day per two weekends.
