Parliament Hill, where the ceremony always takes place, is at the heart of the action. During the ceremony, quite a few volunteers act as information officers, roast marshmallows, or act as hosts for artists and special guests. | Position | Description |
| VIP Entrance Greeter | Welcome guests and VIPs and direct them to the appropriate areas. |
| Reception Greeter | Direct people. Provide information. |
| Coat Handler | Collect guest coats and hang them up. |
| Arts and Crafts Assistant | Help with any preparations. Assist children with crafts. Help keep the craft area clean. |
| Bonfire Supervisor | Keep fires going. Hand out marshmallows. Ensure area security |
| Bus Helper | Help with line-ups. Report to the person in charge. |
| Information Officer | Hand out brochures. Answer simple questions. |
