Software
ROCK3DFE is a state-of-the-art three-dimensional, static, linear elastic finite element program, designed specifically for the analysis of structural and geological systems associated with mining applications. ROCK3DFE screen capture
BSM3D is a Windows-based software recently developed for analyzing stress and stability of jointed rock mass. The 3-D Block-Spring Model (BSM) simulated the discontinuous rocks or large displacement by assembling blocks divided by joints and faults. BSM3D screen capture
Rock Mechanics Test Systems
An MTS 815 Rock Mechanics Test System: this 4500 kN, stiff frame press is equipped with a triaxial cell capable of generating confining and pore water pressures of 140 MPa at working temperatures of up to 200 degrees C. The computer-controlled servo-hydraulics make it possible for the operator to quickly and accurately alter test conditions and load paths according to project requirements.
A Gilmore 302D Rock Mechanics Test System: this
18 000 kN press, the largest in Canada, is equipped with a triaxial chamber capable of generating confining pressures of 40 MPa and accepting up to 25.4 cm diameter test specimens. In addition, a large-scale true triaxial frame capable of generating forces in excess of 1200 kN is also available. The system has been upgraded with MTS servo controls.
18 000 kN press
Backfill Testing
10 MN Terra Tek Press capable of testing backfill samples in uniaxial compression from 15.2 to 122.0 centimetres (6 to 48 inches) in diameter.
Particle Sizing
Particle and aggregates sizing equipment capable of analyzing material ranging from 152 millimetres (6 inches) down to 2 microns in size.
Seismic Data Analysis
Specialized services to collect and analyze seismic data.
Borehole Inspection
Geo-camera with monitor for inspection of boreholes.
