MTS 815 Rock Mechanics Test System: this 4500 kN, stiff frame
press is equipped with a triaxial cell capable of generating
confining and pore water pressures of 140 MPa at working temperatures
of up to 200 degrees C. The computer-controlled
servo-hydraulics make it possible for the operator to quickly
and accurately alter test conditions and load paths according
to project requirements. |

Gilmore 302D Rock Mechanics Test System: this
18 000 kN press, the largest in Canada, is equipped with a triaxial
chamber capable of generating confining pressures of 40 MPa
and accepting up to 25.4 cm diameter test specimens. In addition,
a large-scale true triaxial frame capable of generating forces
in excess of 1200 kN is also available. The system has been
upgraded with MTS servo controls. |
