Doing Business with CANMET-MTL

CANMET Materials Technology Laboratory (CANMET-MTL), in addition to its research and certification programs, also provides direct services to clients. These services are available through a variety of mechanisms from cooperative ventures to full user pay, and can range in scope from characterization of a single item to a full-scale investigation of a major catastrophe. Clients of CANMET-MTL include universities, other government departments, major multinational corporations, and small- and medium-sized enterprises.

Since October 2003, the academic community enjoys facilitated access to the pilot-scale materials processing facilities at CANMET-MTL through the Academic User Access Facility (AUAF) initiative which is made possible by means of a Major Facilities Access Grant awarded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) to McMaster University.
