Weekly Gasoline Report

The Gasoline Report is a roundup of consumer gasoline prices from across Ontario and Canada. The graph shows price trends for three Ontario cities for the previous 12 month period. The report and graph are updated weekly.

This week's Gasoline Report is for the week ending December 11, 2006

Lower wholesale prices and price wars in some markets caused the Ontario average retail price of regular unleaded gasoline, after increasing four straight weeks, to decline by 2.9 cents from a three-month high to 86.4 cents a litre.

Prices fell by 4.7 cents in Toronto West (from a three-month high), 3.6 cents in Toronto East (from a three-month high), 2.6 cents in Ottawa (from a three-month high), 1.7 cents in Thunder Bay (to a nine-month low), and 1.3 cents in London (from a three-month high). The Ontario average retail diesel price increased for the third straight week, by 2.3 cents to 90.7 cents, a three-month high.

The Canadian average retail gasoline price declined by 1.4 cents from a three-month high to 89.4 cents.
