Forest Fires

Research in this area focuses on

  • studying the fire environment, fire behavior, fire ecology, and fire as a natural disturbance;
  • developing information and decision-support systems for monitoring and predicting wildland fire activity and for enhancing fire management efficiency and effectiveness; and
  • investigating the relationship between projected climate change and wildland fire in the boreal forest.
