Broadband National Selection Committee Fact Sheet

• Members of the Broadband for Rural and Northern Development National Selection Committee (NSC) were announced by the Minister of Industry on December 17, 2002.
• The NSC comprises 24 members representing all regions of Canada and a cross-section of professional backgrounds including academia, government, the private sector, health, education and community organizations.
• The role of the committee is to review project proposals and make recommendations to the Minister on which proposals should receive funding for the development of business plans and, subsequently, for the implementation of these business plans.
