Centra Windows Ltd. is offering rebates on home heating costs to a maximum of $1,250 for homeowners in selected interior regions of British Columbia and Greater Vancouver with the purchase and installation of ENERGY STAR qualified Centra windows. Hydro-Québec is offering a 50$ mail-in rebate on the purchase of a new ENERGY STAR qualified refrigerator of at least 8.5 cu. ft. between April 1 to December 31, 2006. Refrigerators must be purchased and delivered in Québec.
The Ontario government's ''Every Kilowatt Counts" program will provide a $500 cash rebate when homeowners replace their outdated central air conditioner with an ENERGY STAR qualified unit (SEER 14). There is also a $50 rebate available for a tune-up and a $75 rebate on the supply and installation of a programmable thermostat. Manitoba Hydro’s Power Smart Furnace/Boiler Replacement Program offers a $245 credit on customers‚ natural gas bill for the installation of a new ENERGY STAR qualified high-efficiency furnace or boiler. The Power Smart Home Insulation Program offers financial incentives on the purchase of insulation (up to 100 per cent of the material cost ) that must meet eligibility requirements and insulating work that must meet the minimum Power Smart levels. FortisBC offers all its customers an incentive for energy efficient air-source heat pumps through the PowerSense Cooperative ASHP Program. To qualify for an incentive, the heat pump must have a SEER of at least 13. For qualifying models, the financial incentive will consist of: 5 per kWh equivalent in energy savings. Northland Utilities (Yellowknife) Limited and Ecology North are offering a $75 rebate to customers of Northland Utilities (Yellowknife) Limited who install either an ENERGY STAR qualified refrigerator and/or front-loading clothes washer. Customers must provide proof that their old appliances have been sent to the Yellowknife landfill for recycling. Landlords are allowed to apply for appliances installed in rental units. Province of Saskatchewan offers a Provincial Sales Tax (PST) exemption for ENERGY STAR qualified appliances. The PST rebate for qualifying energy-efficient household appliances was converted to a point-of-sale tax exemption effective April 1, 2005. Appliances eligible for the PST rebate are ENERGY STAR qualified refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers and clothes washers. The tax exemption applies to the sale or long-term lease (rentals for a continuous period of at least one year) of a new qualifying appliance. Combined clothes washer/dryer units are eligible for an exemption of 60% of the PST payable when the unit is sold for a single price. Used appliances are not eligible. The Province of Saskatchewan offers a Provincial sales tax exemption on the purchase of ENERGY STAR qualified household furnaces and boilers. For the period beginning November 8, 2005 until March 31, 2007, ENERGY STAR qualified energy-efficient forced-air furnaces and boilers that are normally used for residential purposes, are exempt from PST if purchased or leased for a continuous period of one year or more. A qualifying furnace or boiler does not need to be installed in a residence in order to be eligible for the tax exemption. The exemption does not include heating distribution systems such as ductwork used to circulate air in a house or thermostats. BC Hydro Power Smart's Windows Rebate Program offers monetary incentives for the installation of ENERGY STAR qualified windows starting September 15, 2005. Terasen Gas provides a $1,000 incentive to homebuilders who install high efficiency ENERGY STAR® qualified natural gas furnaces or boilers instead of electric baseboard heating in new homes in the Terasen Gas Vancouver Island service territory (Vancouver Island, the Sunshine Coast and Powell River). The cost of the incentives is shared by Terasen Gas, Natural Resources Canada and BC Hydro Power Smart. Installation must be completed between June 1, 2005 and December 31, 2006. Terasen Gas is offering residential customer incentives throughout the Terasen Gas Vancouver Island service area for changing existing heating systems to high efficiency natural gas furnaces and boilers as follows:
- $300 rebate for converting an existing heating system to a natural gas system

- $400 for converting an existing water heater to natural gas.
