Message From the Yukon Energy, Mines and Resources Minister
The Yukon government is very pleased to be hosting this year’s Energy and Mines Ministers’ Conference in Whitehorse, August 27-30.
Yukon last hosted the conference in 1992, where the Whitehorse Mining Initiative was forged. It led to the adoption of a strategic vision for a healthy mining industry.
Both the mining and energy sectors have greatly evolved since then. Fourteen years later we face new challenges, which we will discuss and address in this cooperative, productive forum.
Come earlier or stay longer and experience the Yukon. Many come for a visit and never leave. You just may end up joining those ranks!
