We are constantly
looking for new material to improve this presentation. Don't hesitate
to contact us if you have or know of educational resources that could
be added to this list.
Northwest Territories:
- Project ROCKS
Resource Kit: was financed by Natural Resources Canada and
the Department of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources, Government
of the Northwest Territory through the Canada - NWT Mineral Initiatives.
The lessons and activities have been designed for grades 4 to 9. The
kit is intended to facilitate learning about our use of mineral resources,
about the Earth - the source of those resources, and how we render those
resources to end-use products. The kit is also intended to promote awareness
and to prompt discussion in regard to the role each of us can take to
use resources responsibly to achieve sustainable development. A Project
ROCKS Resource Kit and a Rocks box were distributed to every
school in the Northwest Territory.
For non-NWT teachers,
copies of the Project ROCKS documents can be purchased from
Artisan Press Ltd. in Yellowknife (403-873-4418) for approximately
$65.00.
