Start a Mine

Have you ever read about staking rushes or gold rushes and wanted to be a prospector?

Have you ever wondered how a mineral deposit is found?

Imagine you are in Ontario and you want to find and develop a mineral deposit. Start a Mine will take you through the mining cycle - from claim staking, through operations to closure and site rehabilitation.

Information:

Start a Mine has been adapted from Ontario's Mineral Wealth, an interactive computer program produced under the Minerals Program of the Canada-Ontario Subsidiary Agreement on Northern Ontario Development (NODA).

Ontario's Mineral Wealth was developed by Mackerel Interactive Multimedia for Natural Resources Canada and the Ontario Ministry of Northern Development and Mines, in cooperation with the Ontario Mining Association.
