Where Can I Get Weather Information?TelephoneIf you want basic weather information, please look in the blue section of your telephone book under Environment Canada for the telephone number of the recorded Weather Line, updated with current conditions and forecasts. Prairie and Northern Region recorded telephone weather numbers are listed at: http://www.pnr-rpn.ec.gc.ca/air/a00s13.en.html Weatheradio CanadaProvides instant access to weather information and warnings, direct from Environment Canada. Broadcast range from the weatheradio transmitter is approximately 60 kilometres. The effective range depends on such things as terrain and quality of the receiver and indoor/outdoor antenna. Before you buy a receiver, make sure your area is covered by a transmitter. Weatheradio is broadcast on frequencies 162.400, 162.425, 162.450, 162.475, 162.500, 162.525 and 162.550 MHz and is available on the FM or AM band at some selected locations. The special receiver needed for Weatheradio is readily available at major electronic stores.
