Canadian Transportation Agency Offers Advice for QuikAir Ticket Holders

Updated: November 16, 2006, at 2:30 pm EDT

QuikAir, a Calgary-based regional airline, ceased its operations on October 24, 2006. QuikAir operated flights to and from Calgary, Edmonton and Fort McMurray, Alberta, as well as Penticton, British Columbia.

Affected passengers should fax a request for refund to QuikAir at 403-216-6928, or try to contact the carrier by phone at 1-800-551-7845. Affected passengers may also wish to contact their travel agent to make alternate travel arrangements.

If affected passengers still wish to complain, they can contact their provincial or territorial authority dealing with consumer matters. The contact names can be found on this Web site at: www.cta.gc.ca/cta-otc2000/faqs/travel-registrar_e.html.

Other advice

  • If you purchased your travel using a credit card, you may contact the card-issuing company. Some, but not all, credit card companies may be prepared to void the charges.

  • If you purchased your travel in a cash transaction with QuikAir, you should keep all tickets and receipts issued by the air carrier. There may be future announcements about pursuing claims for reimbursement.
