The Business Contact economic facilitation event was held in Saint-Georges-de-Beauce on February 20, 2004. Organized by the Centre d’aide aux entreprises Beauce-Chaudière and Canada Economic Development’s Québec—Chaudière-Appalaches Business Office, it drew more than 210 entrepreneurs from the Chaudière-Appalaches region.

Through lectures, workshops and meetings with Government of Canada representatives, participants obtained information on starting up businesses, growth, exports, innovation and productivity. Topics targeted for the region were also covered, namely, agri­-food and tourism. Finally, in view of the strong presence of manufacturing enterprises in the Chaudière-Appalaches region, special attention was paid on this occasion to distribution, marketing and exports.

Michel Couture, President of the Centre d’aide aux entreprises Beauce-Chaudière, and Christian Audet, Director of Canada Economic Development’s Québec—Chaudière-Appalaches Business Office, kicked off Business Contact in the morning.
