Canada-Quebec Infrastructure Works Program
The Canada-Quebec Infrastructure Works Program is jointly administered by Canada Economic Development and Quebec's Ministère des Affaires municipales et des régions for water-related projects and those of importance to the urban or regional economy, while Quebec's Ministère des Transports oversees road and highway projects. The Government of Quebec is the program's lead player.
The Canada-Quebec Infrastructure Works Agreement was signed in October 2000. Through this partnership between the Government of Canada and Government of Quebec, the program funds municipal, urban and rural infrastructure projects.
- Financial assistance from the two levels of government accounts for roughly 66 2/3% of a project's eligible costs.
- Total infrastructure investment in Quebec will amount to $1.5 billion.
