Regulation respecting special permits
The Regulation respecting special permits lays out the conditions that must be complied with when a vehicle is oversized because of its manufacture or outsized cargo. There are 7 classes and 2 categories of special permit.

General category: classes 1 and 2
- Authorizes its holder to make trips with or without a specified route for not longer than one year.
Specific category: classes 1 and 2
- Authorizes its holder to make a return trip with
a specified route, for not longer than seven consecutive
days.
