The Montérégie Business Contact economic leadership event was held from 8:15
a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 10, 2004, on Fort Saint Jean campus
in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. Organized jointly by the Sociétés d’aide au
développement des collectivités (Community Futures Development Corporations -
CFDCs) and the Centres d’aide aux entreprises (Business Development Centres -
BDCs) in the Montérégie region and by Canada Economic Development, the event
drew more than 375 entrepreneurs.
Conferences and meetings with Government of Canada representatives allowed
participants to obtain information about business startups, growth, exports,
innovation, productivity and strategic information. The event was organized
around themes of interest to the Montérégie, namely, agri-food,
nanotechnologies, the environment, tourism and transportation.
Luc Guérin, President of the Centre d’aide aux entreprises de la
Haute-Montérégie, and Jack Noodelman, Director of Canada Economic Development’s
