Montréal

The Business Contact economic facilitation event was held in Montreal on April 1, 2004. Organized by the Chambre de commerce et d’industrie de l’Est de l’île de Montréal (Eastern Montreal Chamber of Commerce and Industry) and Canada Economic Development, it drew more than 230 entrepreneurs.

Through lectures, workshops and meetings with Government of Canada representatives, participants obtained information on starting up businesses, growth, exports, innovation, productivity and strategic intelligence. Specific topics were also targeted for Montreal, namely, bio-food, nanotechnology, environment and plastics processing.

Diane St-Germain, President of the Chambre de commerce et d’industrie de l’Est l'île de Montréal and the Honourable Yvon Charbonneau, Parliamentary Secretary to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness with special emphasis on Emergency Preparedness and Member of Parliament for Anjou — Rivière-des-Prairies kicked off Business Contact in the morning.
