Protect Your Child from the Sun
- Limit your child’s time in the sun especially between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
- When outside look for a shady place to play.
- Apply sunscreen with UVA and UVB protection (SPF 15 or more) 15-30 minutes before going outside.
- Reapply sunscreen every two hours. More often if the child is swimming or sweating.
- Cover your child’s skin with loose-fitting, tightly woven, light-weight clothing.
- Use a wide-brimmed hat to protect your child’s face, ears and neck.
- Protect your child’s eyes with sunglasses that are CSA approved.
