Environmental Sensitivities Voluntary Registry

The City of Ottawa hopes to head off any human cases of West Nile virus by reducing the number of mosquito breeding sites and by using larvicide to prevent the most harmful kinds of mosquitoes from reaching maturity. Citizens are also doing their part by ensuring there is no standing water on their property and using personal protection. If the virus does spread to people however, the City may be required to adulticide according to recently passed provincial regulations. We hope this will not happen. However, the City has set up a registry to notify people with environmental sensitivities of adulticiding near their homes. Fill in the attached registration form if you would like your name to be added to the list. Please note you may be asked to provide a doctor's certificate at a later date. Please refer to the attached Policy on Notification of Adulticiding for WNv for further details.

If you have already registered you will remain on the Registry and there is no need to re-register.
