All of Québec is actively getting ready

No one knows when or where the influenza pandemic could arise. But if a pandemic were to break out, all of Québec’s regions would be prepared to limit the spread of the virus, treat those who are affected and support the public.

Last March, the Minister of Health and Social Services, Mr. Philippe Couillard, unveiled the Québec Pandemic Influenza Plan—Health Mission. The plan outlines 24 strategies and covers five areas of activity: public health, physical health, psychosocial intervention, communication and continuity of services.

Since then, a wave of mobilization has swept Québec. Each health and social services agency is developing its own regional plan, based on the provincial plan, in order to meet its specific needs. Authorities at the local level will then be called upon to present their plan, taking provincial and regional plans into consideration.
