Being well prepared

Although it is difficult to predict the extent of the problems that an influenza pandemic may cause, we already know that more than 25 government departments and organizations are working on an ongoing basis to ensure the public’s safety.

The Government of Québec is relying on the Organization de la Sécurité Civile du Québec (OSCQ) to plan and coordinate public safety activities for all of Québec. The OSCQ is responsible for coordinating activities when Québecers are struck by disasters of all sorts, such as spring floods, landslides and forest fires. The OSCQ will continue to play its role in the event of a pandemic.
