The tax auditing process

The tax auditing process

After earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration (accounting) from the Université de Moncton in New Brunswick, Donat Thériault started his career with the Canada Revenue Agency I May 1977 as a business auditor. He worked with tax services for eight years. In 1986, he moved to Rimouski where he headed the business audit team.

Workshop summary:

A tax audit can seem a mysterious process. To demystify the work of the tax auditor, Donat Thériault discussed the mission and values of the Canada Revenue Agency, the responsibilities of auditors and their superiors, and auditing in general (selection, initial interview, tax assessment and closing of the file).
