CFI has developed an online training platform - GrowZone. The first online training program for fatigue management is now available. Extra-provincial trucking carrier employees (i.e. drivers, shippers, dispatchers, and managers) must undergo a driver fatigue management program to receive the exemption. CFI developed this program with Transport Canada and the Prairie Provinces’ Trucking Hours of Service Directors. The Canadian Fertilizer Institute has been working with Transport Canada on a limited exemption for its Commercial Vehicle Hours of Service Regulations to allow for more flexibility in the rules governing trucking hours of service for fertilizer delivery during the spring and fall seasons. The application was for the delivery of liquid fertilizer and anhydrous ammonia within Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta. On Friday, March 25 CFI received confirmation that Minister Strahl has approved our application for a limited exemption for spring and fall delivery of liquid fertilizer and anhydrous ammonia.
