Whole-of-Government Approach
The Information Technology Services Branch has assumed responsibility for several
elements of the federal Government On-Line initiative from the
Chief Information Officer Branch (CIOB)
of Treasury Board Secretariat. These functions share a common focus on
providing a whole-of-government approach to serving Canadians.
Government On-Line (GOL) Initiative
Government On-Line sunsetted officially on March 31, 2006. For information on

Organizational Readiness (ORO)
The Organizational Readiness Office identifies and helps departments address culture
and workforce issues related to the implementation of government change agendas such as
the Government On-Line and Service Improvement initiatives. The competency-based,
community-led strategy modelled by the ORO encourages a whole-of-government focus for
departmental change-management initiatives, and supports multiple change agendas.
Secure Infrastructure Services Sector
The Secure Infrastructure Services Sector contributes to the development of the
common information technology infrastructure which enables electronic service delivery.
Our key activities in building the secure foundation for e-government include:

Collaborating with public and private-sector partners to provide the security components
for the government's electronic service delivery and business transformation activities
