Seniors Fraud Awareness Campaign

Seniors Fraud Awareness Campaign

The purpose of the campaign is to educate seniors and caregivers about potential fraud situations and where to obtain more information or assistance. The campaign is designed to provide educational materials for stakeholders in seniors’ lodges, seniors’ organizations, community support groups and police agencies to make presentations to seniors, future seniors, adult children of seniors, caregivers, and organizations.

"If in Doubt, Check it Out” was developed as a result of feedback from a number of stakeholder organizations throughout Alberta.  This unique package consists of helpful tipsheets and five, on-line videos featuring the most common types and methods of fraud targeted at seniors including Internet, telephone, investment, financial and home renovation fraud.
