Emergency Management Grants 2005/06
Municipal Sponsorship Program
 

Alberta Municipal Affairs has allocated $175,000 to a special grants initiative under the Municipal Sponsorship Program for emergency management workshops and exercises.  The grants are available to municipalities with populations of 20,000 or less. 

Emergency Management Alberta District Officers work with municipalities to coordinate applications for the grants and to help ensure the workshops and exercises have a regional focus and includes mutual-aid partners.

The deadline for receiving applications will be March 17, 2006 and all approved projects must be completed by May 31, 2007.

Acknowledgement of Compliance - 2005-2006 Training Grants

Municipalities who received 2005-2006 training grants are required to submit an Acknowledgement of Compliance to the Minister of Municipal Affairs by May 1, 2007 for Ground Search and Rescue Training Grants and August 1, 2007 for Emergency Management Training Grants.

Acknowledgement of Compliance - 2004-2005 Training Grants

Municipalities who received 2004-2005 training grants are required to submit an Acknowledgement of Compliance to the Minister of Municipal Affairs by May 1, 2006.

Emergency Management Training

Municipalities wishing to schedule emergency management training for municipal officials and members of their disaster services agency should contact their District Officer. Emergency Management Alberta can provide the following courses:

  • Municipal Elected Officials
  • Basic Emergency Preparedness
  • Disaster Social Services Planning
  • Registration and Inquiry
  • Emergency Operations Centre Management
  • Emergency Public Information
