Canada grants an additional $3,250,000 to assist the electoral process in the DRC

Canada has granted an additional sum of three million two hundred and fifty thousand (3,250,000) Canadian dollars (approximately 2.9 million USD) to assist the electoral process in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The Canadian contribution is comprised of a sum of $2,750,000 CDN for the basket fund supporting the current elections (APEC project).
In addition, a contribution of up to $250,000 CDN is awarded for continuing support to the Secretariat for the coordination of international election observers in the DRC (PACO project), a project managed by UNOPS.
Finally, $250 000 is awarded to the African Union for support of its observation mission in the DRC.
