The Government of Canada today issued the following statement on the bombing that killed Gibran Tueni:

“Canada condemns in the strongest possible terms the bombing in Beirut today that killed Lebanese Member of Parliament and journalist Gibran Tueni and members of his staff, while injuring several others.

“The Canadian government extends its deepest condolences to the families of the victims and to the Lebanese people. Canadians’ thoughts are with them at this difficult time.
