MINISTER PETERSON ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT
TO EDC BOARD OF DIRECTORS
International Trade Minister Jim Peterson today announced the appointment of
Jocelyne Landry of Dieppe, New Brunswick, as a director of Export Development
Canada (EDC).
As Director of the Centre for International Business Studies at the University of
Moncton, Ms. Landry is currently responsible for organizing trade missions and
developing the activities of the Centre. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, a
Bachelor’s degree in Adult Education and a Master of Business Administration from the
University of Moncton.
Ms. Landry has a diverse background in business management, international trade and
marketing. In her career of over 20 years in the private sector, she has travelled
extensively and has been involved in trade missions to countries in Africa, Asia, Europe
and Latin America.
Ms. Landry replaces Rayburn Doucett of New Brunswick, whose term has expired.
Minister Peterson thanks Mr. Doucett for his years of exemplary service.
EDC provides trade finance and risk management services to Canadian exporters and
investors in up to 200 markets, 150 of which are in developing economies. Founded in
1944, EDC is a Crown corporation that operates on commercial principles and reports
to Parliament through the Minister of International Trade.
