DIPLOMATIC APPOINTMENT
John Manley, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today announced the appointment of Angela Bogdan
as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to the Federal Republic of
Yugoslavia.
"Ms. Bogdan's appointment as Ambassador represents an important step in the normalization of
relations between Canada and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia following the democratic
transition in that country last year," Minister Manley said.

BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE
Angela Bogdan (B.A., international relations/history, and B.Ed., York University) joined the
Department of External Affairs in 1982. She has served as Counsellor and Consul at the Canadian
Embassy in Warsaw (1995-1999), as Deputy Political Advisor at the Canadian Delegation to
NATO (1991-1995), and as Head, Nuclear Policy/Strategic Issues, in the Department's Defence
Relations Division (1988-1991). Ms. Bogdan has also held assignments in the Department's
United Nations Division, Southeast Asia Division and Personnel. Her first overseas assignment
was as Vice-Consul at Canada's Consulate General in Melbourne. Ms. Bogdan is currently
serving as Chargé d'Affaires at the Canadian Embassy in Belgrade. She has two children.
