Media representatives are advised that Denis Paradis, Secretary of State (Latin America and Africa) (Francophonie) will visit Dominica from February 25 to 27, 2002.

In Dominica, the Secretary of State will attend the Reunion of the Condor and the Eagle International Indigenous Action Summit, an international conference promoting the sustainable economic and social development of Indigenous people throughout the hemisphere.

At the Summit, Mr. Paradis will take part in plenary sessions and discussion forums bringing together Indigenous peoples of the hemisphere, as well as representatives of Canadian Aboriginal businesses, community development organizations and Canadian and Dominican government agencies.

The conference is being funded and supported by the Governments of Canada and Dominica and UNESCO.
