PARADIS - VISIT TO CÔTE D'IVOIRE AND MALI

Media representatives are advised that Denis Paradis, Secretary of State for Latin America, Africa and La Francophonie,
will visit Côte d'Ivoire and Mali from August 30 to September 2, 2002.
In Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, on August 31, Mr. Paradis will meet with Prime Minister Pascal Affi N'Guessan and chair a
meeting with a delegation from the African Development Bank led by Théodore N'Kodo, Vice-President of Operations.
In Mali from August 31 to September 2, Mr. Paradis will meet with President Amadou Toumani Touré, Minister of Foreign
Affairs Lassana Traoré, Minister of Education Mamadou Lamine Traoré, Minister of the Economy and Finance Ousmane
Issoufi Maiga, and Minister of Justice Abdoulaye Ogotembely Poudiougou.
While in Mali, Mr. Paradis will also hold a round table with Canadian and Malian private sector representatives, and will
visit a project for community-based development financed by Canada, in Kognobla village.
