MINISTER PETERSON TO TRAVEL TO WESTERN CANADA


International Trade Minister Jim Peterson will travel to Western Canada from August 22 to 26, 2005.


The Minister will visit Vancouver and Surrey, British Columbia, on August 22, where he will meet with local business people to discuss trade issues. Following the Vancouver meeting, media are invited to take part in a brief media availability.


On August 23, Minister Peterson will travel to Kamloops, British Columbia, where he will meet with the local chamber of commerce. A media availability will take place following the meeting.


The Minister will then travel to Regina, Saskatchewan, for the National Liberal Party Caucus meeting on August 24 and 25. While in Regina, Minister Peterson will meet with the Regina Chamber of Commerce to discuss trade issues.


On August 26, Minister Peterson will travel to Winnipeg, Manitoba, to attend a Cabinet retreat and to meet with local business associations.
