MEDIA ACCREDITATION FOR AIRPORT DEPARTURE OF
CHINESE PRESIDENT HU JINTAO IN VANCOUVER
Chinese President Hu Jintao will depart from the Vancouver International Airport on
Saturday, September 17, 2005.
Media representatives who have already covered the arrival and/or the luncheon have
been accredited automatically for the departure and do not need to contact the Media
Relations Office at Foreign Affairs Canada. Those who wish to cover the event but
have not been accredited must contact the Media Relations Office at (613) 995-1874
by 1:00 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time on Saturday, September 17, 2005, and leave their
name, agency and phone number, specifying that their accreditation request is for the
airport departure.
There is a limited number of spaces available to the media; no more than two members
from one agency (one camera/photographer and one reporter) will be allowed at the
airport. If demand exceeds the space available, media may be restricted to one
camera/photographer per agency only. There will be no access for satellite or
microwave vehicles to cover the event airside.
Confirmed media are requested to present themselves at the airport by 1:30 p.m. PDT
with the following:
• current media accreditation from the National Press Gallery or any provincial
legislature, along with one piece of photo identification, or
• in the absence of suitable gallery accreditation, one piece of photo identification.
Only applications from known media outlets listed in commercial media directories will
be accepted.
