PAGTAKHAN - TO VISIT VIETNAM AND BRUNEI
Dr. Rey Pagtakhan, Secretary of State (Asia-Pacific), will visit Vietnam and Brunei from July 24
to August 3.
From July 24 to 28, Dr. Pagtakhan will accompany John Manley, Minister of Foreign Affairs, to
the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Regional Forum Meeting and Post-Ministerial Conference in Hanoi.
From July 28 to August 1, Dr. Pagtakhan will travel to Hue and Ho Chi Minh City to meet with
senior politicians, religious leaders and business representatives, including the Canada-Vietnam
Business Association. He will also visit literacy, health and education projects funded by Canada.
Dr. Pagtakhan will be in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam from August 1 to 3, where he
will meet with His Majesty Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan of Brunei, His Royal Highness and
Foreign Minister Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, and Pehin Abdul Aziz, Minister of Education and
Health. He will also participate in a roundtable discussion on education.

Le secrétaire d'État (Asie-Pacifique), M. Rey Pagtakhan, effectuera une visite au Vietnam et à
Brunéi Darussalam du 24 juillet au 3 août.
Du 24 au 28 juillet, M. Pagtakhan accompagnera le ministre des Affaires étrangères, M. John
Manley, à la rencontre du Forum régional et à la Conférence postministérielle de l'Association
des nations de l'Asie du Sud-Est (ANASE), à Hanoï.
Du 28 juillet au 1er août, M. Pagtakhan visitera Hue et Hô Chi Minh-Ville où il rencontrera des
dirigeants politiques, des chefs religieux et des gens d'affaires, notamment des représentants de
l'Association des gens d'affaires Canada-Vietnam. Il visitera également des projets financés par
le Canada dans les domaines de l'alphabétisation, des soins de santé et de l'éducation.
M. Pagtakhan sera à Bandar Seri Begawan, à Brunéi Darussalam, du 1er au 3 août; il y rencontrera
Sa Majesté Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, sultan de Brunéi, Son Altesse Royale et ministre des Affaires
étrangères, le prince Mohamed Bolkiah, et le ministre de l'Éducation et de la Santé, M. Pehin
Abdoul Aziz. M. Pagtakhan participera en outre à une table ronde sur l'éducation.
