MANLEY - DIPLOMATIC FORUM, VICTORIA, B.C.

John Manley, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will be in Victoria, British Columbia, from November 21 to 23, 2001, to host the Department's annual Diplomatic Forum. The Minister will deliver the keynote address at a luncheon on Friday, November 23. Mr. Manley will be participating in the forum along with other representatives of the federal government.

The forum is an annual conference and this year 135 ambassadors, high commissioners and consuls-general accredited to Canada will participate. They will exchange views on issues such as the global campaign against terrorism; Canadian international trade and investment; the internationalization of higher education; environmental policy in Canada; the national and international security agenda; economic and social trends in British Columbia; and Canada and the Pacific Basin.
