The Trade Division of the Canadian Embassy in Berlin provides six core services: market prospect, key contacts search,
visit information, local company information, face-to-face briefing, troubleshooting. The Trade Division commits to contacting you within five working days of receiving your inquiry. We treat all requests confidentially. What we do
help Canadian exporters in access matters to the German market, e.g. by providing them with addresses of suitable distributors for their products in Germany, or by submitting their company profiles to interested German importers seeking an Canadian supplier for a certain product.
provide general information to Canadian exporters via publications prepared by the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in Ottawa, such as InfoExport and CanadExport Bulletin
advise Canadian exporters individually, by industrial sector
help German importers find the appropriate Canadian suppliers for specific products
prepare reports on the German market, by industrial sector
refer German exporters wishing to expand their activities to the Canadian market, as well as Canadian importers to the appropriate sources
inform Canadian exporters about customs tariffs to Germany and put German exporters in contact with the Canadian Customs Attaché in Brussels
inform about tax refund for travellers to Canada
inform about trade fairs and exhibitions in Germany and Canada
assist Canadian firms in finding the appropriate, trade-related German institutions or association
assist German firms in finding the appropriate, trade-related Canadian institutions
or association
What we cannot do
- help you find a job in Germany or Canada
- provide translation services or interpreters, e.g.
for the translation of commercial or customs documents,
or interpreting at trade fairs etc. For this kind of
request, please refer to a professional translation
office
- intervene in disputes between private parties (cf. list of lawyers specialized in commercial law between Germany and Canada) or recover due sums from clients in Germany or Canada. However, we would be pleased to refer you to collection agencies who can help you recover incontestable sums.
