Export Control List 2005
Changes and Corrections
The recent amendment of August 29th, 2006 to Canada’s Export
Control List has resulted in a number of additions, deletions, and
clarifications to the export controls related to various goods and technologies.
A brief overview of the key changes to the goods and technologies affected
by this amendment are provided below. Please consult “A Guide
to Canada’s Export Controls - December 2005" found on
our website or contact the Export Controls Division at (613) 996-2387
for further clarification.
Additions of controls:
- specially designed components of machine tools (1-2.B),
- numerically controlled machine tools using a magnetorheological finishing
(MRF) process

- spray cooling (1-3.A),
- physics based simulation software (1-3.D),
- direction finding equipment (1-5.A),
- inertial equipment for azimuth, heading or north pointing (1-7.A),
- fuze setting devices for ammunition (2-3),
- military lighter-than-air-vehicles (2-10),
- Global Navigation Satellite Systems jamming equipment (2-11),
- a Nuclear Technology Note and a General Software Note, (Group 3),
- radial ball bearings (6-3.A),

- plant pathogens (7-13).
Clarifications and changes to technical parameters
have been made to controls for:
- non-fluorinated polymeric substances (1-1.C),
- unprocessed fluorinated compounds (1-1.C),
- microprocessor microcircuits, microcomputer microcircuits and microcontroller
microcircuits (1-3.A),
- analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converter integrated circuits
(1-3.A),
- microwave integrated circuits, microwave transistors, microwave solid
state amplifiers and microwave assemblies / modules (1-3.A),
- radio frequency signal analysers (1-3.A),
- frequency synthesised signal generators (1-3.A),
- equipment designed for epitomical growth (1-3.B),
- equipment designed for ion implantation (1-3.B),
- anisotropic plasma dry etching equipment (1-3.B),
- plasma enhanced CVD equipment (1-3.B),
- technology specially designed or modified for the development or production
of digital computers (1-4.E),
- hydrophones and towed acoustic hydrophone arrays (1-6.A),
- infrared focal plane arrays based on microbolometer material and cameras
incorporating such focal plane arrays (1-6.A),
