The Immigration Section of the Canadian Embassy in Bogotá, Colombia, covers visitor and immigrant matters for Colombian and Ecuadorian citizens interested in going to Canada as temporary residents (tourists, business, and transit), students, temporary workers or as immigrants. Questions or comments should be directed to the Canadian Embassy in Bogotá although applications and documents can be dropped off or mailed to the Canadian Embassy in Quito if this is more convenient.

Visiting Canada as a Temporary Resident (tourist, business, transit). On this page, you will find information about the requirements to visit Canada for a short time and how to apply to visit a family member in Canada.

Studying in Canada. The following information indicates whether you need to obtain a study permit and how to apply for one.

Working in Canada. Here you will find information about how to apply if you have a job offer in Canada. It is probable that you will need a validation of your job offer by the Ministry of Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC). Your employer in Canada will need to communicate with the Ministry in order to know how to proceed.

Immigrating to Canada Permanently. In this page, you will find information about the selection of immigrants in various categories: economic class, family class and refugees, and how to apply.

If you are a Permanent Resident but Have Not Obtained Canadian Citizenship and are planning to travel frequently or stay outside Canada, please review this information on your obligations as a permanent resident.

Anyone can apply directly without intermediaries and that is why the Embassy cannot recommend or guarantee any service offered by an intermediary.
