Think of sports in Canada and you'll likely think of hockey. Some of the world's best-known hockey players are Canadians. Hockey is by far Canada's favourite spectator sport and one of its most widely-played recreational sports. Canada actually has 2 national sports. Prior to 1994 Lacrosse was Canada's official sport. As Canada is most often associated with Ice Hockey, a law was passed in 1994 declaring Ice Hockey as Canada's national winter sport and Lacrosse as the national summer sport.
