Institutional Co-operation: CIDA provides support to Canadian Institutions for multinational projects with activities in Colombia. Canadian institutions provide training in areas such as cooperatives, business management, human rights, public administration, and telecommunications. CIDA also has a partnership fund for Canadian development NGOs working in developing countries, entitled the NGO Project Facility. Through it, CIDA supports partnerships with civil-society organizations to strengthen the capacity of local groups and local communities. The Universities and Colleges Program works with universities, colleges and other institutions that specialize in human resource training to build the capacity of educational and training institutions in developing countries to address their respective development priorities. Canadian and Colombian universities have established significant partnerships through the University Partnerships in Cooperation and Development Program for universities and the Canadian College Partnership Program for colleges.
Industrial Co-operation Program (INC) The Industrial Co-operation Program (INC), a division of CIDA's Canadian Partnership Branch, was established in 1978 to facilitate long-term, mutually beneficial commercial relationships between the Canadian private sector and its counterparts in other countries. Volunteer Organizations Canadian Executive Service Organization (CESO) Retired Canadian experts in different sectors lend their support to Colombian enterprises for short terms (one to two months). Approximately 30 experts per year have come to Colombia for assignments in the agro-industry, industrial and service sectors. FICITEC FICITEC, Carrera 11 A, No. 59-75, Santa Fe de Bogotá, Tel. (011-57-1) 348-2011, Fax (011-57-1) 255-1563, a local non-governmental organization, identifies, selects and organizes the assignments for CESO.
