The Canadian Embassy in Berlin does not administer Canadian social security
plans and due to the Canadian Privacy Act is precluded from obtaining details
on individual cases.
Canadian social security plans and benefits are administered by Social Development
Canada (SDC). You may obtain forms
and information, and learn about the Canada/Germany
Social Security Agreement on the internet.
If you have a question about your Canadian social security plan or about the
receipt of a cheque, or if you wish to forward a change of address, you should

Taxation of Social Security benefits
If you are receiving Canadian social security benefits outside Canada you must
complete a yearly income tax return or your pension will be stopped.
Normally 15% of your monthly benefit payment will be automatically withheld
as Non-Resident Tax when residing in Germany.
If you think you might be eligible for a tax reduction, or if you require tax
information and tax forms please contact the International
Tax Office of the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency.
