Trade and Investment
Welcome to the Commercial Section of the Canadian Embassy in Brasilia.
We provide assistance on matters of trade policy, market access and information on Government of Brazil legislation and policy, with the objective of guaranteeing free market access and eliminating commercial barriers that effect bilateral trade.
Our mandate is to promote Canada's economic interests in Brazil and to support Canadian companies who have selected Brazil as the market of their products, services or technologies.
Following from the core services of the Trade Commissioner service, the officers in the Commercial/Economic Division support, represent and intervene on behalf of Canadian businesses. Specifically in the areas of:
Government Procurement - Information on procurement documents and support of companies participating in a government procurement process.
Sanitary and Phyto-Sanitary Market Access Issues - Contact with Government officials at ports, airports and with the Ministry of Agriculture, regarding the release of shipments, registration of products of animal origin and other questions.
Official Meetings and Contacts with Brazilian Government Authorities - Organization of Meetings with high-level authorities in the Brazilian Government when necessary.
Information on legislation and international trade requirements in Brazil.
Please consult the Virtual Trade Commissioner for sectoral information and officer specific responsibilities.
