Since 1997, Canada’s development cooperation in Argentina has focused on transferring Canadian expertise and methodologies to contribute to Argentina’s:
- ability to deliver programming, particularly in the areas of health and education; and
- efforts in public sector reform.
CIDA’s primary programming initiative in Argentina has been the Canada-Southern Cone Technology Transfer Fund. In 2003–2004, Canadian official development assistance to Argentina totalled $3.85 million.
The Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) maintains a limited assistance program in Argentina and there will be no new long-term projects planned by Canada in this country. However, Argentina can benefit from various programs, such as:
- geographic programs including
- multilateral programs including
- other programs that allow institutions, associations, Canadian and international non-governmental organizations, and private sector enterprises to receive funding from CIDA to execute projects worldwide;
