Canadian participation in the 2nd Santiago International Film Festival

"The Drifting States" (2005) by Canadian director Denis Côté is participating in the international competition of the 2^nd Santiago International Film Festival, SANFIC 2006, which takes place from August 8^th to 14^th, at the different CineHoyts in Santiago.

Mr. Côté will be in Chile to present his film on Saturday, August 12^th and Monday, August 14^th, at 05.30 pm at the CineHoyts San Agustín (San Antonio 144).

Denis Côté was born in the province of New Brunswick. He studied Film at the Ahuntsic College of Montreal. He is a film critic as well as a film director. He has made over ten short-films and in 2005 presented his first feature-film, "The Drifting States", which was filmed in video format, on a very low budget and with the help of a small town in northern Canada.

"The Drifting States" won a Golden Leopard in the video competition of the International Film Festival of Locarno and a prize for the Best Film at the International Film Festival of Jeonju in Korea.
