Canadian participation in the 2nd Santiago International Film Festival

"The Drifting States" (2005) by Canadian director Denis Côté is participating in the international competition of the 2nd Santiago International Film Festival, SANFIC 2006, which takes place from August 8th to 14th, at the different CineHoyts in Santiago. Mr. Côté will be in Chile to present his film on Saturday, August 12th and Monday, August 14th, at 05.30 pm at the CineHoyts San Agustín (San Antonio 144). Denis Côté was born in the province of New Brunswick. He studied Film at the Ahuntsic College of Montreal. He is a film critic as well as a film director. He has made over ten short-films and in 2005 presented his first feature-film, "The Drifting States", which was filmed in video format, on a very low budget and with the help of a small town in northern Canada. "The Drifting States" won a Golden Leopard in the video competition of the International Film Festival of Locarno and a prize for the Best Film at the International Film Festival of Jeonju in Korea.
