Concerts in Italy by Canadian Organist Calvin Church, Summer 2006Mr Calvin Church to perform in Rome, Assisi, and the town of Limone Piemonte, July and August 2006 The Canadian Embassy to the Holy See in Rome, in collaboration with the Southminster United Church in Ottawa, is pleased to announce a series of three organ concerts by outstanding Canadian musician, Mr Calvin Church. Performances by this young and talented Canadian music artist will take place at churches in Rome, Assisi and the town of Limone Piemonte in northern Italy (detailed programme below), and will include music by Buxtehude, Bach, Pachelbel, Boelmann, Franck and Odlroy. A young, talented organist An accomplished organist and choral conductor, Calvin Church is a graduate of the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto and the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Music. He is currently Director of Music of Southminster United Church in Ottawa and teaches master classes in piano and piano pedagogy. He has performed in numerous piano and organ concerts in Canada, the U.S. and Bermuda.

Thursday, August 3, 2006 Place: Basilica Saint Mary of the Angels, Assisi, Italy Time: 9 p.m. The concert at Assisi's Basilica of Saint Mary of the Angels is part of the Celebrations for the Feast of the Pardon of Assisi.
Sunday, August 6, 2006 Place: Saint Peter Parish Church, Limone Piemonte (province of Cuneo), Italy Time: 6 p.m. The performace at the Saint Peter Parish Church of Limone will be part of liturgical celebrations, with an added performance following Mass
