Senate Speaker Noël A. Kinsella meets with Pope Benedict XVI at the Vatican

During a visit to Rome which included meetings at the Holy See and also with Italian state authorities, the Speaker of Canada’s Senate, the Honourable Noël A. Kinsella, greeted His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI at an audience on October 11, 2006, at St. Peter’s Basilica.

While in Rome, Senator Kinsella also met with the Holy See’s Secretary of State, Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, and was guest of honour at the special screening of Canadian film La Neuvaine, hosted in Rome by the Canadian Embassy to the Holy See and the Québec Cultural Agency in Italy in collaboration with the French Embassy to the Holy See on October 12, 2006.
