N. S. bringing in web based electronic patient record system


Nova Scotia has brought in a new electronic patient record system designed to reduce wait times and improve access to care.

The new primary health-care information system was introduced today by Health Minister Chris d'Entremont.

Bogus bills at record high levels


OTTAWA — The Bank of Canada expects “dangerous levels” of currency counterfeiting to continue for up to three more years.

Since 2001, counterfeiting has exploded in Canada, breaking historical records and making the country one of the worst in the world for the circulation of funny money.

National Defence has begun offering a training course on how to save relationships at a time when some military families are in “crisis” because of frequent deployments abroad.

Good deed cops busy at school
Students get Caught-Ya! cards as reward for positive behaviour


CAMBRIDGE — An Annapolis Valley principal says his staff has been busy catching students doing good deeds.

Michael Ouellette of Cambridge and District Elementary School said in a recent interview that students and staff spend much more time and energy on learning because of a marked decrease in discipline problems since the school began using the Positive Effective Behavioural Support program last September.

Fan loses patience with Axl’s late start


Mary MacDonald is furious with promoters of the Guns N’ Roses sold-out concert coming to the Halifax Metro Centre tonight.

The Halifax woman learned on Saturday that Axl Rose and his band will not take the stage until after 11 p.m.
