All About Our Internships

Canadian Embassy Interns

The program is designed to provide students with an opportunity for involvement in governmental affairs, and to provide a general understanding of the Canada-U.S. bilateral relationship through the dynamics at work in the Embassy. There are several positions in the Embassy, for which we screen applicants to match their particular academic and/or area interest. Currently, the Embassy is able to offer the following positions within Public Affairs: Academic Relations, Culture, Press/Media, and Information Services. There are frequently positions available in Trade, Environment, Energy and Congressional Relations.

All interns are retained on a non-remunerative basis and usually work 4 1/2 days per week. Because we offer unpaid internships, students are encouraged to apply for academic credit from their universities for the experience or a related research project.

Eligibility

The program is open to Canadian and American students at colleges and universities in Canada and the U.S.
